NFDA COVID-19 Statement for In-person Events

The National Funeral Directors Association’s (NFDA) number one priority is the health and safety of our event participants. Our goal is to hold a safe event, recognizing it is not possible to remove all risks, in particular concerning COVID-19. NFDA is closely following the latest developments in COVID-19 safety protocols and legal requirements and is keeping updated its health and safety protocols related to in-person attendance at the International Convention & Expo.

While participating in events held or sponsored by NFDA, consistent with CDC guidelines, participants are encouraged to practice good hand hygiene, “social distancing” and wear face coverings to reduce the risks of exposure to COVID-19. Because COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is spread mainly from person-to-person contact, NFDA has put in place preventative measures to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. However, NFDA strongly recommends that attendees at the International Convention & Expo be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to attending the event. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious virus that is easily spread by person-to-person contact, especially in indoor areas with multiple attendees. Participating in NFDA’s event could increase the risk of contracting COVID-19, especially for those who are not fully vaccinated.

If you have currently or within the past fourteen days have experienced any symptoms associated with COVID-19, which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath, among others, or if you believe you may have been exposed to a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and are not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities or the health care team responsible for their treatment, we would request that you stay home and we can meet together again soon.

NFDA’s health and safety policies and procedures are subject to change. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we navigate this dynamic environment.
