NFDA Wreath Laying Ceremony: 11:15 a.m. at The Tomb of the Unknown Solder
Washington D.C. would not be complete without visiting Arlington National Cemetery. Spread across 639 acres of rolling hills and beautiful gardens, this historic landmark is about 4 times the size of the National Mall.
Ticket prices include transportation from the Mayflower Hotel to Arlington National Cemetery, private tram tour, and transportation from Arlington National Cemetery to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and The Mayflower Hotel.
Schedule
- 8:30 a.m.: Bus departs from Mayflower Hotel
- 9 a.m.: Arrive at Arlington National Cemetery
- 9:30 a.m.: Tram departs from the Visitor Center
- Tram stop at the grave of President John F. Kennedy
- Tram stop at the Arlington House, a Greek Revival mansion built by George Washington Parke Custis as a memorial to George Washington. It was the home of Robert E. Lee and his family for 30 years before the Civil War. Today it is a national memorial to Lee, honoring his post-war efforts for reconciliation and also interprets the lives of the nearly 100 enslaved people who lived and worked there.
- 10:30 a.m.: Tram drop off at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier for the NFDA wreath-laying ceremony.
- 11:15 a.m.: Join us for a powerful and moving public wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, where we come together to honor the courage, sacrifice and service of those who gave everything for our nation.
- 12:15 p.m.: Bus departs from Arlington
Your ticket also enables you to hop on and off any of the seven tram stops throughout Arlington. Take your time exploring 639 acres of rolling hills before stopping at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
